well, seeing as the emphasis is on the importance of teaching yourself a foreign language and how to keep it up,it's not so hard to prognosticate the idea of taking up a foreign language is the first sign of consenting to broaden your vision to see further ahead.
moreover, the elation and the awareness of competence as we are pacing through a whole set of procedures on the way to the completion of a well-structured learning process and of course the revel beyond words is indefinably wonderful.if you really set your heart upon,it will surely turn out the way you plan.
expressing oneself in a language other than his own holds a vital importance in today's world.english is the key to the most of it all for that matter.
another thing is that you don't necessarily have to be in a country where english is used as the primary language in order to learn it.you could as well do that in your own country but of course having the chance to do it in an english speaking country will contribute to your understanding of the world a great deal and by meeting new people from various cultural backgrounds.
you know it takes a great man to be a good observer and above all to try and get a good grasp of what he's been putting effort into.it sure is not easy as nothing in life is but it is not impossible either.take me for example,i am not a native english speaker nor have i learned it in an english speaking country but i knew one thing for sure which is that if you want to see the light at the end of the tunnel, you should run towards it at full speed.
resorting to american tv series for "aural" practice is a good way of getting acquainted to the colloquial usage of the language.i guess cnn international or bbc world (for those who like the british accent) would still serve as some good source of practice in that matter.
cheers!
