May 24, 2010 - Unite Union, which represents over 12,000 British Airways Cabin Crew, has commenced a series of 5-day strikes beginning today, May 24th, followed by two additional 5-day strikes beginning May 30th and June 5th, 2010. British Airways has announced that although the strikes will have some impact, it expects to operate over 60% of its long-haul flights and over 50% of its short-haul flights to and from London Heathrow Airport. Flights to and from both Gatwick and London City Airports will operate a normal schedule.

Due to a high probability of European travel disruption and the resulting higher call volume, customers are strongly encouraged to check the status of their flights and continue to review the most up-to-date information online at the British Airways Website.
